Wonderful and entertaining short stories of the weird kind. For all lovers of Sci-fi and fantasy
Welcome to the upside down, inside out worlds of Alex Starke. Come in, make yourself at home. Here you can experience eight tales of the Starke universe. Whilst taking you away from everything you know, they gnaw at you with an underlying familiarity. You are swiftly drawn into Starke’s sometimes downright outrageous visions of odd things!
Mr Starke has a knack of quickly drawing characters who you want to know more about. He brings to mind both Heinlein and Pratchett and I mean this in a most complimentry way.
For example, how about ’Would You Like To Place An Order Now?’ - Or what would you like to see happen to your president or prime minister of choice?
Or ’A Normal World’ - it ain’t
Or ’The Big Accidental Bump’ - first contact that doesn’t quite go according to plan. Not surprising when the President of The United Corporation of Amerika is possibly an ancestor of one Donald Trump…
My personal favourite is ‘Mr. Tidley Meets The Boneman’. I feel there is a full length novel in the making here. I hope Mr Starke is up for it!
These are wonderful and entertaining short stories of the weird kind. For all lovers of Sci-fi and fantasy. Go read!
Oh, did I mention that Alex Starke loves dogs? Particularly Jack Russell terriers…— Edwin, Amazon UK

Hello all!
As you can see, I love to write in different genres and will continue to do so with unapologetic glee. I am a graduate of the University of Oregon with a degree in Medieval Studies and a minor in Early Modern European History. More than a few people used to ask me what I would do with degrees so obscure for these modern days. Well, I feel the studies I undertook provide me with a wealth of creative ideas that I apply to all facets of my writing. Plus, history fascinates me to no end.
I met my wonderful wife and spectacular graphic artist, Anne, while singing in the Johann Strauss operetta, Die Fledermaus. We currently reside in Eugene, Oregon with our pack of Jack Russell terriers. When not writing, biking, traveling, or taking dictation from Thor, you will find me most afternoons in my backyard flinging the sacred orb for Thor.
